Traditional food of Kapuas Hulu Region ( Kerupuk Basah)


Hi friends, how are you? Are you hungry right now? ^_^

In this space I will be giving information about food. As we know that Makasar has Coto, Palembang has empek-empek, Madura has Sate and Kapuas hulu alo has special food. In this occasion I will introduce traditional food from Kapuas Hulu.


Kapuas Hulu has many kinds of food. One of them is Kerupuk Basah or you can called wet cracker, so this article is special for all of you who like trying to eat unique food. Having heard Kerupuk Basah, What do you feel friend? It is strength name? Yeah, that right. Usually cracker or chips tend to dry but this food is wet. Why?? It is because this food is putted into boil water.

Kerupuk Basah is familiar not only in Kapuas Hulu regency but also in Indonesia.


People from Sabang until Marauke knows about that food, because of it be culture of Indonesian food. You can go to Kapuas Hulu if you want to it because of there are many both small shops and cafe which are sold. Actually people from another area of Indonesia sold it but origin kerupuk basah from Kapuas Hulu is much more delicious. It tastes good because both soft and unique taste. There are many people said that ‘ this food is very good and it make us addiction. If you eat it, you will add one and even more than one. Please believe me!! It is more delicious if you eat it with bean sauce, therefore it as same as Siomay and batagor.


As knowing, base material to making Kerupuk Basah is meat of fish of lake. By making it by used meat fish of lake water is better than meat of sea fish because fish of lake water is tasteless therefore we can add same salt depend on our wants. As the native of Kapuas Hulu of regency I will give you origins receive. Having try… ^^


Ingredients to making Kerupuk Basah
• Meat of fish
• Flavor sago
• Garlic
• Some salt
• Some water

• Caldron

• Stove or fireplace is better

Ingredient to making sauce bean
• Small chili
• Bean
• Salt
• Sugar
• Garlic
• Vinegar

Steps to making Kerupuk Basah
First, Meat of fish and materials is mixed by add some water to become one dough, and then one dough is divided in some parts; each part is made to be long circle. If it has been finished in long circle, it is put in water boiling about 15 to 30 minuets. After that Kerupuk Basah is already to eat and if you want to it is more delicious than before you can add some bean chili sauce on it. Its taste is both delicious and soft. Kapuas Hulu’s people are called one Kerupuk Basah is “satu lungkung” and the other name of “Krupuk Basah” is “Temet”. Do you want to taste the food guys? Please welcome to our region….. ^^
