welcome to our blog

You will probably ask why I should stay here even just for a while for reading or smiling at the very beginning.
If it is so, we can only say, "Come in here and tell me, how our treasure bring your heart in for free.."

Bengkayang Celebration Day

Bengkayang Celebration Day

The 27 April 1999 was the first time Bengkayang had its own autonomy as independence regency with 10 sub-districts. This day, furthermore, had been celebrated as Bengkayang birthday celebration day every year until now. Instead of this celebration day closely to the season of crop (Gawai Dayak), this celebration mostly managed to be one agenda with Bujang Dare Competition to choose the embassy of Bengkayang regency.

The recently celebration of our birthday was in this year. The stakeholder of this regency managed the various activity to be one which was recruited the people inside not only for the younger but also for the elder, from the common unemployed citizen to the governmental employed citizen. The activity inside such as Bujang Dare Competition (for the teen), culinary competition (for the employed and unemployed women), carnival (for everyone), music and dance festival (for teen), footsall and football competition (for the employed and unemployed women and men), drawing and painting competition (for playgroup to elementary students), and governmental carnival stand competition ( for all governmental organizations).
For us, especially the people who continue their study outside the regency (students), this celebration day is very interesting to be together with our old friends at home. Although in this month (April) the teaching learning process is actively going on but sometimes we like to spend about two or three day to be altogether in celebrating those two moments (Gawai Dayak celebration is just like Christmas and Idul Fitri Celebration for the food and drinks inside). For me, as an individual member of the regency, the birthday celebration of Bengkayang makes me a little busy because although I am a student at university now but the connection with the people there is still high. On this day I like to volunteer as a participant of traditional dance competition and as the official of culinary and drawing and painting competitions.

In this chance, I will also want to give a little picture about the preparation of one of the competition at this celebration. Although this video is not show you much about how the governmental stand competition is, but at least you know that celebration is existed here in our regency, Bengkayang.

Well everybody, the activity all over is very interesting. By actively participating inside of the celebration, the feeling in owning this regency becomes stronger than before. Well, I think it is enough because I have just missed my hometown already.. :-(
Bye,
