SENTARUM LAKE

Welcome to our blog guys,,, in this occasion I will be introducing our great place for all of you… that exotic place comes from Kapuas Hulu. Kapuas Hulu is one of regencies in West Kalimantan which has many tourism objects is attracted to know. One of that place that common in our life is ^Sentarum lake^… If you want to know more about that, please stay here and read this article, because this article would like to give you reasons why ^Sentarum Lake^ became heart of tourism object in west Kalimantan ^^ 

          ^Sentarum Lake^ is representative of wetland ecosystem of the lake, it is good both freshwater swamp forest and tropical rain forest in Borneo.

That place Sentarum is the only primary fresh water swampy forest area in Kalimantan with such tall trees. The areas located downstream of the Kapuas River is highly dependent on fluctuations in the amount of water collected in the lake. It is biggest lake in Indonesia because its widely is about 132,000 hectares, is not wide guys?? the park includes wetlands and tropical rainforest. it is Located in the upper of the Kapuas river, it is about 700 kilometers from Pontianak the capital of West Kalimantan province, so if you want to see the biggest lake in indonesi, please go to Kapuas Hulu.. ^^ in addition that exotic place also is unique thing because there are many species including in it. That area has 143 species have been directly observed in the Park. The latest research shows that there are 200 species of fish, such as belida, fancy fish like ulanguli, the expensive rare species is arwana, toman and etc. 


The lake area is also home to orangutans (pongo pygmaeus) that is rare animal in the world.

It harbors many interesting species from families that are primarily marine, such as soles, stingrays and pufferfish. Beside it has many species of fauna it’s also has many species of flora that is become research center for researcher. More than 500 plant species have been recorded at Sentarum National Park, belonging to 99 families. Of these, 262 species occur in the swamp forests, three-quarters of which are trees and shrubs. Aquatic herbaceous species are uncommon, probably because of the significant annual fluctuations in water levels, and are generally limited to more permanent bodies of water near the Kapuas River.



             The flora includes 30-43 species endemic to the its area, and during recent surveys, eight species new to science were discovered. Kind of flora which is more popular from that area is black orchid. The Lake Sentarum park hosts 135 wild orchid species, including the famous black orchid (Coeloyne pandurata).

The orchids there populate trees along the banks of the Terus, Blantik, Sepiak and Makadong rivers. Lake Sentarum save charm Black Orchid (Coelogyne Pandurata) that grow naturally in forests along the Kapuas River.
