Kapuas Hulu is one of regencies in West Kalimantan which has many tourism objects is attracted to know. One of that place that common in our life is ^Sentarum lake^… If you want to know more about that, please stay here and read this article, because this article would like to give you reasons why ^Sentarum Lake^ became heart of tourism object in west Kalimantan ^^ 

          ^Sentarum Lake^ is representative of wetland ecosystem of the lake, it is good both freshwater swamp forest and tropical rain forest in Borneo.

People Occupation in Kapuas Hulu Regency

For this opportunity, I will give you some information about cultur of people’s Kapuas Hulu Regency especially about the strength occupation. Some people of the regency have strength job and its occupation is mining gold. Territory of Kapuas Hulu that appropriate for miner of gold is Nanga Boyan. Nanga Boyan is appropriate for miner gold because that territory has gold in the river. Many people of another territory of Kapuas Hulu came to Nanga Boyan to be miner, people from another area believed that its occupation will be made them became rich men. Sometimes if they are having the lucky day they will get about 50 million rupiah a week. Golden that they have found in the river sold to people from Putussibau or fancy store. Therefore its occupation has given them much of many but to me that occupation is little strength.

Tumpi

Because of most people in Bengkayang is Dayaknese, so that I’ll tell you about their special food. Its name is Tumpi. This is the traditional food of their ethnic. It is the food that we can only find it on certain celebration that we call Gawai Dayak. Beside that, this cookie is a symbol of that celebration. It is a must to make and serve “Tumpi” when Gawai Dayak come because it symbolizes as a form of happily because the farmers have already harvest the rice and they celebrate their success of plant the rice.

The big plantations in Bengkayang regency

Ok, this time I’ll lead you to see what the potential that Bengkayang has. Because of most area on my regency is farmland, so that there are also have many plantations. That’s why, it’s automatically give impact for regional income and create most people work as farmers. Briefly, these are the some list of big plantation in Bengkayang regency.
a. Rubber Plantation
It is big plantation that exists in Bengkayang. We have wide area about 49.555 hectare. In brief, the area that being a center of big plantation is Samalantan Subdistrict with wide area around 16.872 hectares.

b. Oil palm plantation

The production of oil palm is around 104.440 ton on the TBS form, with wide area 247 hectares. The big plantation can be found in Ledo Subdistrict.

c. Black and white pepper
Bengkayang have two kinds of pepper plantation, those are Black and White pepper.
For black pepper production is about 431 ton and white pepper production is about 1006 t0n with total area around for both of pepper species are 2713 hectare. It is located on Seluas Subdistrict.

d. Clove
The production of clove is 527 ton in original form with wide area as big as 936 hectare. The big area of clove plantation locates at Sungai Raya Subdistrict.
e. Coffee
The production of coffee is 151 ton in form of dry seeds. The area of this plantation is 277 hectare. The big area is located at Sanggau Ledo subdistrict.
